I know the 2004-2005 school year started on a bad foot (RIP Deshawn and the one who died in a shooting, I apologize I forgot his name :( ) but I hope it didn't end so bad this year!

Congratulations, graduates of 2005!

I saw a flyer in a window about an "All-Class" Tyee reunion. Anyone know anything about it?

It had a web address, but I didn't have anything to write it down with.

Tyee Varisty Fastpitch is starting out to a great sesaon this year, now 2-0 with the wins and 1-0 in the regular season. This new coach is really turning this team around and is raising the girl's spirits up.

Game against renton today. 14-5 was the final score i believe. The girl's played 5 great innings, then began to fall apart but was able to pull it together and get the win. I played DH for Emily who pitched a great game. With Tiffany Burger out with a broken ankel, we need to keep our pitchers safe. I went 1 for 4 with a walk. Pretty good for my first time EVER playing on Varsity. JV got spanked 11-18.

Varsity tomorrow 3:30 @ Lindberg.
JV tomorrow 3:30 @ Tyee.

Tyee's band also did very well today. We went to band festival at the PAC, at scored a 1,1,and 1+. We were shocked with the 1+ (ITS A VERY VERY GOOD SCORE) and Ms. Nelthropp told us it was her first 1+ in her Tyee teaching carreer. We're off to New Orleans next Friday to compete. Good luck band!

Great Job Tyee!!

So, what does everyone think about the new and improved lunch hour on late arrival days? It has been shortened for us, without any warning, and without even the teachers getting a chance to discuss it.
Apparently, its all because there were a couple freshmen fights.
Personally, I despise the idea. And if the Principal did it to stop fights, it wont work. More class=more stress. And now people have less time to shout insults, so they'll just have to be more vicious during what time they have.
That, and now it's likely that Sophmores, Juniors, and Seniors will slam on the freshmen now. Not that they shouldn't. I figure if there was just a little more hazing done, this never would have happened. Should have taught those shorties how things work. Ah well.
In my History class people are allready discussing walkouts, or getting as many people as possible to skip third. How about in your classes, or your group of friends, or anything concerned on the matter? Ideas, complaints, support on the decision?

DeShawn's Memorial

It was held in our caffiteria, on the stage there were flowers and red and gold balloons. We waited in our seats for them to begin. First one of the father's of one of the players spoke, then O.G spoke...made me teary becasue he was very close to crying, if not alreaty. Then anoher parent spoke. After he had finished, he had people stand up and tell memories about DeShawn. A couple of people stood...gave their memories, then the man spoke again. While he was speaking, i see DeShawn's father...mother and the rest of his family walk in. Anna, Katrina, and I all lost it there. That family is so strong, my heart goes out to them.

The speeches were finished, and he asked everyone to go out into the courtyard and make a circle, as they went outside they were given candles that were lit. He asked the football team to stay behind, and we all got a red, gold, or black balloon to carry out. We walked out and stood in the middle of the circle and said "22, DeShawn" then let go of the balloons. We all stood out there for at leat 15-30 minutes just holding eachother and crying. I haven't cried that hard since i lost my brother. Issac and some other people started singing "amazing grace". It put a smile on my face, although i could not stop crying.

Did anyone saw 10:00 news last night (9/8/04) on 13 about Deshawn's death. It was pretty weird to see my friend Chris Gover and on tv there were couple another of guys, and OGrady as well. Chris seemed really sad on the tv, that really sucks. So anyway, did anyone?

Today during first period we learned the news of DeShawn's death. It was a horrible way to start off a new school year, but we used eachother to lean of for support.

Rest In Peace

Well I'm sure some of you got the same letter, but starting September 15, 2004 we will have DELAYED START every single Wednesday. Classes will start at 9:55 am. We won't be having early release anymore, but just think that's a whole day a week you get to sleep in.

The bad news is, turning Tyee into smaller schools is definitely happening thanks to the 600,000 dollar grant. It will begin either next year or the following year, and basicly we will be iscolated from all other classes. There will be 4 lunches.

Yesterday was the first assembly since the fight. Now we aren't allowed to bring our backpacks or purses in with us, there are no chairs so everyone is crammed into the bleachers, and every teacher has to sit with the students. Were dismissed by building over the course of about 15 minutes. If you don't want to attend the assembly, you can go to the library for "study hall"

The assembly went well, the best one we've had all year I think. This is what it should have been like from the beginning.
